Shelled and sunk by ADMIRAL SCHEER on 05/11/1940 in position 52.26 N 32.34 W, she was in convoy HX84 along with the valiant JERVIS BAY.

MAIDAN was carrying explosives and blew up with the loss of all 90 souls on board.
